Vastu is the traditional Indian science of building. Its rules on direction, entrances and room placement are written down in classical texts, and they have shaped homes, temples and whole cities.
Then
Texts such as the Vishwakarma Prakash and the Mayamata set out how to orient a plot, where to place rooms and how to divide a site into zones.
Builders fixed the east-west line by watching the shadow of an upright rod through the day, then laid the plan against it.
Jaipur, founded in 1727, was planned on Vastu Shastra and Shilpa Shastra principles. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage city.

No plan? Create one here. Point your phone camera at the floor corners of each room and the size is measured for you, with a photo of the room. Then drag the rooms into place, mark your main entrance and say which way the plan faces. Creating a plan is part of the RAJYOG plan.
Camera measuring is accurate to about 10 percent. You can correct any size by typing it, and a tape measure is best for rooms near a zone boundary.
